HI everyone, it's time to get to know ME...who is NRG? My name is Nadia Gordon . I'm originally from Kingston, JAMAICA ( yahdie). I currently reside in Douglasville, GA with my loving husband and two children. A little over a year ago I took a leap of faith and opened up my own salon, NRG Hair Studio.
Let me dial back to somewhat of a beginning. My love for hair started at an early age where my muses would be my mother's friends as they came over to visit. Back then I never thought I would be here today.
I participated in track and field for years and eventually got a scholarship to attend Michigan State University where I studied...wait for it...
CHEMICAL ENGINEERING (whaaaaat!!!)... so how did I get from there to here? I can honestly say it was nothing but God...you can say I was LED. After graduating and moving to Georgia I couldn't land me a job in my field...I worked in the fast food industry to tutoring, to picking up and dropping kids off...anything to make ends meet... all while braiding on the side. In 2006 while going for a tutoring gig for a salon owner son i ended up working there as a braider. While there I fell in love with the industry even more. Everyday I was eager to go in and soak up all I could from the other stylists, especially from my now best friend Michelle, and barbers. I worked with Michelle for years before going back to school to get licensed.
Fast forward a couple years and now I am a licensed master cosmetologist with my own salon (yikes!)
